A4D Meetup 2010 Trip Recap ... 5

The 2010 A4D Meetup was great. The venue was nice, the attendance was good, and the speakers were great. We also had some really nice weather in San Diego that day which seemed to put everyone in a great mood. The recurring theme for this meetup was Lead Generation. I took a bunch of notes and just now got to typing them up. Here ya go….

Meetup202 LA Trip Report & ... 0

When I was a little kid, after we took a field trip with our class, the teacher made us write a report about what we learned. It's actually a good exercise if only to help you remember stuff.
Overview
This passed Saturday I went to Meetup202: Los Angeles. Organized by the people at Tracking202/Bloosky, these meet-ups are simply to allow affiliate marketers to network and learn from each other face to face.
I got there about an hour and ...

There are two affiliate marketing meetups coming up. I live in San Diego and will be going to both.
Meetup202 Los Angeles - March 20, 2010
This is part of the Tracking202 sponsored Meetup202 group. This should be pretty interesting. The organizer is JasperP. He runs nerdyaffiliate.com and is responsible for that cool Tracking202 keyword CTR mod that a lot of people are running. I"ve never been to one of these except the giant ...
Tracking202 Missing PPV Icons ... 5
Posted by ctrtard on Mar 10, 2010
Sometimes, little things bug me. I've been running a bunch of PPV traffic lately and for awhile now, I've noticed that Prosper202 doesn't have icons for DirectCPV or LeadImpact. This is most noticeable in the Overview and the Spy view where traffic from both of these networks gets stamped with the question mark icon. When you just see a question mark, you need to hover over it with your mouse to figure out what traffic source it is. And ...
Split Testing and Rotating ... 39

Since I made the “PPV Landing Page Rotation” post a few days ago, quite a few people had asked me how to go about doing offer rotation as well.
As usual, there’s more than one way to skin a cat. I’m going to show you the “right” way to do this. By doing it right, we are going to preserve all of Tracking202’s trackyness. However, doing shit right always takes more time. So I would be remiss to not point out a slick way to ...
Split Testing and Landing Page ... 71

Split testing kicks ass. Rotating landing pages to find which one converts best is the ticket to making you more money. Don’t be lazy, it’s not that hard!
If you’re experienced, I’ll cut to the chase. Here is my ppv landing page rotation script download link. This script supports all major CPV networks, and allows even rotation via counter file or psuedo-rotation via random number. Read the comments in the file, you’ll figure ...
LeadImpact Doesn’t Allow ... 7

We all know split testing landing pages and offers is important, but not all advertising networks are OK with it.
I recently put up the same campaign across 3 CPV networks: DirectCPV, MediaTraffic, and LeadImpact. All of these pointed to a landing page rotation script. The script would rotate between all 8 landers I made. DirectCPV and MediaTraffic approved the destination URL but LeadImpact did not. I got the following ...
Gauher does 7search 0

Guru guy Gauher Chaudhry posted a pretty cool video the other day about 7search.com
You've probably already heard of 7Search, but in case you haven't, it's a 2nd tier PPC search engine that usually get's a bad rap. It is generally considered crap traffic and full of click fraud. I tried using 7search a few times myself. A long time ago, I tried some 7search -> MFA site arbitrage which never made any decent coin. Last year, I ...
Sheeple influencing Sheeple 0

There is an interesting article in the January 2010 Wired called "How Group Think Rules What We Like". The premise: "Can you persuade someone to like a product by telling them that it’s popular? Do teenagers like Taylor Swift because she’s good or because everyone else they know likes her — so hey, she must be good, right?"
A guy named Duncan Watts wanted to test this. His problem, however, was how to replay history. The example ...
NickyCakes: Selling Shovels to ... 3

It's been written many times that the people who really get rich during a gold rush are the ones selling the picks and shovels.
Lots of affiliate bloggers market to affiliates in one way or another. Justin Dupre has his Affiliate Store, ShoeMoney has ShoeMoney tools, Amish Shah has the recently launched "Magic Bullet System", and those are just off the top of my head.
Enter "LP Lockdown". Cakes announced this yesterday and it looks pretty ...
